The inception of Massanutten Marble and Granite came about as a result of Sam Dofflemyer's passions in creativity and construction, as well as customer demand for a quality-minded and dependable solid surface fabricator. Soon after the art major graduated from college, he began a career as a general contractor, specializing in kitchen and bath remodeling. Installing marble and granite counter tops was always an integral part of these projects, and used a fabrication shop out of Rockville, Md. for most of his kitchen and bath projects. He had always been impressed with the quality product and the excellent stone crafters, and when the owner decided to close the doors, Sam decided to invest in and expand the business south toward Harrisonburg. Massanutten Marble and Granite became incorporated in 2005. It services the Washington D.C. Metro area, through the Shenandoah Valley including Harrisonburg, Staunton, Waynesboro, Shenandoah, Page, Rockingham, and Augusta counties. Sam and his men also travel west into West Virginia, south towards Blacksburg and Roanoke, and east towards Charlottesville and Richmond.
Massanutten Marble and Granite does so much more than its name implies. Because of Sam’s background and the backgrounds of its employees, MMG stands out from the competition. In addition to being stone artisans, the guys at MMG have extensive experience in carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, drywall, and framing. Sam's son Billy joined the team in 2007 upon graduation from Virginia Tech, studying kitchen and bath design, so MMG can offer virtually every aspect of your construction project for design ideas to finished product.
